Sinopsis

Cuando sus padres deciden alquilar el departamento donde vive, Dafne, de 22 años, inventa que adoptó un perro herido para no mudarse. Esa mentira, sin saberlo, la empuja a dar su primer paso hacia la adultez.

When her parents decide to rent out the apartment where she lives, 22-year-old Dafne invents a story about adopting an injured dog so she won't have to move out. That lie, without her knowing it, pushes her to take her first step toward adulthood.

Lopatin (1997, Buenos Aires, Argentina) es Lic. en Ciencias de la Comunicación. Se formó como actriz y estudió guion y dramaturgia con Hugo Manso y Vivi Tellas, respectivamente. Vogelfang (1999, Buenos Aires) es actriz, docente de teatro, directora de actores y estudiante de la Licenciatura en Artes, en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UBA.

Lopatin (1997, Buenos Aires, Argentina) has a degree in Communication Sciences. She trained as an actress and studied screenwriting and playwrighting with Hugo Manso and Vivi Tellas, respectively. Vogelfang (1999, Buenos Aires) is an actress, theater teacher, acting coach, and student of Arts at the Department of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires.

En épocas de perros, de auge de los “perritos”, estos pasan a ser la coartada perfecta. Justifican cualquier decisión, les imponen un formato a la vida propia y a la ajena, son una efectiva excusa por vía humanitaria (salvo por un detalle, y es que son perros, no humanos). La protagonista (que también codirige, aplausos) de Steve Buscemi lo tiene claro, y además es inteligente y está mirando al mundo con los ojos cruzados, entre la apatía, la frustración y las ganas de que la molesten lo menos posible (cómo culparla). En esa ecuación entre un personaje que coquetea con la misantropía y el mundo animal bañando de ternurismo y ladridos la vida cotidiana, estalla una comedia brillantemente precisa y seca, absurda y melancólica. In times of dogs, of the rise of “puppies,” they become the perfect alibi. They justify any decision, impose a format on one's own life and that of others, and are an effective humanitarian excuse (except for one detail: they are dogs, not humans). Steve Buscemi's protagonist (who also co-directs, applause) is clear about this, and she is also intelligent and looking at the world with crossed eyes, between apathy, frustration, and the desire to be disturbed as little as possible (how can we blame her?). In this equation between a character who flirts with misanthropy and the animal world drenching everyday life with tenderness and barking, a brilliantly precise and dry, absurd and melancholic comedy explodes.
