Sinopsis

Para no aburrirse ese invierno, Mamen crea una empresa de avistamiento de urogallos en una zona donde ya no queda ninguno. Un aviso en internet la conecta con Gabri, un buscador de sonidos que altera la rutina de un pueblo aislado por la nieve.

To keep herself from getting bored that winter, Mamen starts a capercaillie sighting company in an area where there are no longer any. An internet ad connects her with Gabri, a sound seeker who disrupts the routine of a village isolated by snow.

A filmmaker and expedition guide. He has directed four feature films and a dozen documentaries. With a radically independent style, he has filmed in remote locations such as Kyrgyzstan, Greenland, and Polynesia, and his films have been selected for festivals in Turin, Cairo, and Moscow.

Esta película con vecinos asturianos se ve con un gusto infinito. El director es capaz de ofrecer un cine auténticamente fuera de norma, ajeno a las exigencias globales y a su bagaje de supuestos y obligaciones: amable, de una irrevocable sencillez, sin más esperanza que la conexión con gente verdadera y su modo de vida. La película exhibe una fluidez sin par, alentada por las buenas charlas y el vino (las escenas en el bar son particularmente felices), mientras se desarrolla la comedia melancólica del avistamiento del gallo mencionado en el título. La idea de algo que no podemos ver, pero cuya existencia se intuye, como un animal de fábula suspendido en un eterno fuera de campo, resulta bella y estremecedora al mismo tiempo. This film featuring Asturian neighbors is a delight to watch. The director is capable of offering cinema that is truly out of the norm, far removed from global demands and the baggage of assumptions and obligations: friendly, irrevocably simple, with no other hope than connecting with real people and their way of life. The film displays unparalleled fluidity, encouraged by good conversation and wine (the scenes in the bar are particularly enjoyable), while the melancholic comedy of the sighting of the rooster mentioned in the title unfolds. The idea of something we cannot see, but whose existence we sense, like a mythical animal suspended in an eternal out of field, is both beautiful and moving. This is the merit of this film that is small yet great. DO
