Sinopsis

Cuando la joven fotógrafa Lisa desaparece, su padre sale a buscarla. Recorre Georgia junto a Levani, su mejor amiga invisible, siguiendo los estadios que ella fotografiaba. En cada pueblo, los relatos cambian y la esperanza de encontrarla se va diluyendo.

When young photographer Lisa disappears, her father sets out to find her. He travels across Georgia with Levani, her invisible best friend, following the stadiums she photographed. In each town, the stories change and the hope of finding her fades.

La investigación que emprende el propio padre de la desaparecida con una pachorra casi plácida, como si fuera un detective tras las pistas de un caso que no le concierne en lo más mínimo, conforma una especie de antithriller, o una falsa película de pesquisa. De pronto el asunto es otro: hay tiempo de sobra para mostrar animales —gatos, perros, burros, cabras, caballos—, paisajes anodinos pero agradables, pueblos olvidados de provincia, canchitas de fútbol destartaladas, todo con bellos motivos musicales que vuelven una y otra vez mientras el motivo del viaje parece diluirse en el recuerdo. Esta película singular se asienta en su ausencia de efectos, su total convicción de que ese lenguaje es el que le corresponde para propiciar una experiencia cinematográfica de primer orden. The investigation undertaken by the missing girl's own father with an almost placid slowness, as if he were a detective following clues in a case that does not concern him in the least, forms a kind of anti-thriller, or a fake detective movie. Suddenly, the focus shifts: there is plenty of time to show animals (cats, dogs, donkeys, goats, horses), bland but pleasant landscapes, forgotten provincial towns, dilapidated soccer fields, all accompanied by beautiful musical motifs that return again and again while the reason for the trip seems to fade into memory. This unique film is based on its absence of effects, its total conviction that this language is the right one to promote a first-rate cinematic experience. DO
