Retrato íntimo de mujeres que transforman el dolor heredado en memoria y la memoria en una forma de sanar. Cuando las mujeres de una familia se atreven a hablar, emerge la posibilidad de reparar juntas y buscar justicia.

An intimate portrait of women who transform inherited pain into memory and memory into a form of healing. When the women of a family dare to speak out, the possibility emerges to heal together and seek justice.

Nacida en Bolivia y nacionalizada mexicana, en 2018 realizó su ópera prima documental, En el murmullo del viento, proyecto ganador de la VI edición de DOCTV, del Premio del Público en el festival FINCA y del premio a Mejor Guion Sonoro de la II Bienal Sonoro do Cinema de Brasil.

Born in Bolivia and naturalized Mexican, in 2018 she made her debut documentary film, In the Whisper of the Wind, which won the VI edition of DOCTV, the Audience Award at the FINCA festival, and the Best Sound Script Award at the II Bienal Sonoro do Cinema in Brazil.

Un asesinato abre la puerta, pero la película decide expandirse donde otras caen en un lugar común peligroso. Me niego rotundamente parte del femicidio de Andrea Aramayo en 2015 para desplegar algo más profundo: una genealogía de silencios, violencias y resistencias que atraviesa a generaciones de mujeres de una misma familia. A partir de conversaciones entre madres, tías y abuelas, el film reconstruye cómo ese dolor se hereda, se transforma y también puede romperse cuando la palabra circula. Nina Wara Carrasco Gómez convierte la investigación personal en un gesto colectivo: mirar la historia familiar para entender cómo seguir viviendo después. Entre memoria, duelo y lucha por justicia, la película encuentra su fuerza en ese gesto radical: negarse al silencio. Juan Manuel Domínguez

A murder opens the door, but the film decides to expand where others fall into dangerous clichés. I Absolutely Refuse starts off from the femicide of Andrea Aramayo in 2015 but ends up revealing something deeper: a genealogy of silence, violence, and resistance that spans generations of women in the same family. Based on conversations between mothers, aunts, and grandmothers, the film reconstructs how that pain is inherited, transformed, and can also be broken when words begin to circulate. Nina Wara Carrasco Gómez turns personal research into a collective gesture: looking at family history to understand how to continue living afterwards. Between memory, mourning and the struggle for justice, the film finds its strength in that radical gesture: refusing to remain silent. JMD
