Thomas Furhapter

Nació en Viena, Austria. Estudió Filosofía en la Universidad de Viena y ahora es escritor, director y productor. Después de varios cortometrajes, realizó su primer largo, The Third Option, estrenado en la competencia de CPH:DOX. Su segundo film, Living Together, se estrenó en DOK, donde ganó el premio Viktor DOK. Luego dirigió Cleaning & Cleansing, que tuvo su estreno mundial en el Festival Internacional Ji.hlava, donde fue premiado. Todas sus películas fueron proyectadas en numerosos festivales, incluidos Zurich, DOXA Vancouver y FID Marseille, entre otros.

He was born in Vienna, Austria. He studied philosophy at the University of Vienna and is now a writer, director and producer. After several short films, he made his first feature film The Third Option, which premiered in the main competition of CPH:DOX. His second feature, Living Together, premiered at DOK, where it won the Viktor DOK. Then he directed Cleaning & Cleansing, which had its world premiere at the Ji.hlava International Film Festival, where it was awarded. His films have screened at numerous festivals and venues including Zurich, DOXA Vancouver and FID Marseille, among others.

Agustina Llambí Campbell

En 2011, junto a Martín Mauregui, Alejandro Fadel y Santiago Mitre, cofundó La Unión de los Ríos, productora de El estudiante (Bafici ‘11), La patota (Bafici ‘15) y Pequeña flor (Bafici ‘22), de Mitre; Muere, monstruo, muere (2018), de Fadel; El cielo del centauro (Bafici ‘15), de Hugo Santiago; y Blondi (Bafici ‘22), de Dolores Fonzi, entre muchas otras películas. Fue jurado en los festivales de Mar del Plata, Valdivia y Locarno, y tutora de desarrollo de proyectos en 3 Puertos, BrLab y Puentes. Es miembro de la Unión de Productoras Cinematográficas.

In 2011, together with Martín Mauregui, Alejandro Fadel and Santiago Mitre, she co-founded La Unión de los Ríos, the production company behind Mitre’s The Student (Bafici ’11), Paulina (Bafici ’15) and 15 Ways to Kill Your Neighbor (Bafici ’22); Fadel’s Murder Me, Monster (2018); Hugo Santiago’s Le ciel du centaure (Bafici ’15); and Dolores Fonzi’s Blondi (Bafici ’22), among many other films. She was a jury member at the Mar del Plata, Valdivia and Locarno festivals, and a project development tutor at 3 Puertos, BrLab and Puentes. She is a member of the Union of Film Production Companies.

Bogdan Muresanu

Nació en Bucarest, Rumania, en 1974. Productor y director, se graduó en la Universidad Nacional de Teatro y Cine de Bucarest. Dirigió los cortos Half Shaved (2013), Spid , Negruzzi 14 (ambos 2016) y The Christmas Gift (2018, ganador del Grand Prix en el Festival de Clermont-Ferrand), y el largometraje The New Year That Never Came (2024), ganador del premio a la Mejor Película en la sección Orizzonti del último Festival de Venecia. Todos ellos se exhiben en esta edición del Festival.

He was born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1974. A producer and director, he graduated from Bucharest’s National University of Theater and Film. He directed the short films Half Shaved (2013), Spid, Negruzzi 14 (both 2016), and The Christmas Gift (2018, winner of the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival), and the feature The New Year That Never Came (2024), Orizzonti Award for Best Film at last year’s Venice Film Festival. All of them are screened in this edition of the Festival.

Antonin Peretjatko

(1974, Grenoble, Francia). Director y guionista graduado en la Escuela de Cine Louis Lumière. Después de tres largometrajes de comedia, entre ellos, La ley de la jungla (Bafici ‘17) y La Fille du 14 juillet (2014, Bafici ’11), y con una decena de cortometrajes realizados, actualmente se encuentra montando su cuarto film, una película de vampiros. Lejos de la comedia, Voyage au bord de la guerre, filmado en 16mm, es su primer largo documental. Esta edición de Bafici le dedica un foco compuesto por siete de sus películas.

(1974, Grenoble, France). A director and screenwriter who graduated from the Louis Lumière Film School. After three comedy feature films, including Struggle for Life (Bafici ’17) and The Rendez-Vous of Déjà-Vu (2014, Bafici ’11), and with a dozen short films made, he is currently editing his fourth film, a vampire movie. Moving away from comedy, Voyage au bord de la guerre, shot in 16mm, is his first feature-length documentary. This edition of Bafici is doing a focus consisting of seven of his films.

Yeo Siew Hua

Cineasta singapurense radicado en Buenos Aires. Es miembro fundador del colectivo cinematográfico 13 Little Pictures, que produjo su ópera prima, In the House of Straw (2009), y también su largometraje documental The Obs: A Singapore Story (2014). Escribió y dirigió The Once and Future (2020), musicalizado en directo por miembros de la Filarmónica de Berlín. Su segundo largometraje, A Land Imagined (2018), ganó el Leopardo de Oro en el 71° Festival de Cine de Locarno. Fue la entrada de Singapur a los Oscar 2020, y se distribuye internacionalmente en Netflix.

A Singaporean filmmaker based in Buenos Aires. He is a founding member of the 13 Little Pictures film collective, which produced his debut film In the House of Straw (2009) and also his feature documentary The Obs: A Singapore Story (2014). He wrote and directed The Once and Future (2020), which was scored live by members of the Berlin Philharmonic. His second fiction feature, A Land Imagined (2018), won the Golden Leopard at the 71st Locarno Film Festival. It was Singapore’s entry to the 2020 Oscars and is internationally distributed on Netflix.

Pablo Cerda

Actor, director y guionista chileno. Es artista marcial e integra la Selección Nacional de Hankido, campeona del mundo desde el año 2000, y fue bailarín del Teatro Municipal de Santiago. Dictó clases y seminarios de expresión corporal en diversas instituciones como la Universidad de Chile y la Universidad de las Américas, entre otras. En 2008 fundó La Nena, su productora audiovisual, con la que inició su carrera como director. Realizó cuatro cortos en 2009, entre ellos, Domingo, presentado en SANFIC y en el Festival Internacional de Cine de La Habana. Actuó en Música campesina, de Alberto Fuguet, y en 2012 dirigió el largo Educación física (Bafici ‘12).

A Chilean actor, director and screenwriter. He is a martial artist and a member of the National Hankido Team, world champions since 2000, and was a dancer at Santiago’s Municipal Theatre. He has given classes and seminars on body language in various institutions such as the University of Chile and the University of the Americas, among others. In 2008 he founded La Nena, his audiovisual production company, with which he began his career as a director. He made four short films in 2009, including Domingo, presented at SANFIC and at the Havana International Film Festival. He acted in Alberto Fuguet’s Música campesina, and in 2012 he directed the feature film P.E. (Bafici ’12).

Rodrigo Fonseca

Nacido en Complexo do Alemão y criado en Morro do Adeus, en Bonsucesso (Brasil), es crítico de cine, reportero, guionista, investigador y dramaturgo. Escribe todos los días para Correio da Manhã y colabora con el sitio web portugués C7nema, así como con la revista electrónica portuguesa Metrópolis. Entre sus libros publicados se encuentran una colección de entrevistas con Nelson Pereira dos Santos, una biografía del actor Renato Aragão, un libro de análisis sobre el héroe de acción Sylvester Stallone y la novela Como era triste a chinesa de Godard.

Born in Complexo do Alemão and raised in Morro do Adeus, in Bonsucesso (Brazil), he is a film critic, reporter, screenwriter, researcher and playwright. He writes every day for Correio da Manhã and contributes to Portuguese website C7nema, as well as the Portuguese electronic magazine Metrópolis. His published books include a collection of interviews with Nelson Pereira dos Santos, a biography of actor Renato Aragão, a book analyzing action hero Sylvester Stallone and the novel Como era triste a chinesa de Godard.

Iván Eibuszyc

En 2009 creó Frutacine, productora con especial interés por el cine de autor. Desde entonces, ha producido 13 largometrajes de reconocidos directores de distintas nacionalidades, como Santiago Loza (Argentina), Dominga Sotomayor (Chile), Rania Attieh (Líbano), Daniel García (Estados Unidos), Gastón Solnicki (Argentina), Andreas Koefoed (Dinamarca), Iván Fund (Argentina), entre otros. A través de coproducciones con Portugal, Francia, Brasil, Estados Unidos, Dinamarca y Chile, Frutacine se hizo un nombre a nivel internacional. Sus películas fueron seleccionadas y premiadas en importantes festivales como Cannes, Berlín, Venecia y Sundance.

In 2009 he created Frutacine, a production company with a special interest in auteur cinema. Since then, it has produced 13 feature films by renowned directors of different nationalities, such as Santiago Loza (Argentina), Dominga Sotomayor (Chile), Rania Attieh (Lebanon), Daniel García (United States), Gastón Solnicki (Argentina), Andreas Koefoed (Denmark), Iván Fund (Argentina), among others. Through co-productions with Portugal, France, Brazil, the United States, Denmark and Chile, Frutacine made a name for itself internationally. Its films were selected and awarded at important festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice and Sundance.

Avelina Prat

Directora y guionista española. Es arquitecta, profesión que ejerció antes de dedicarse al cine. Trabajó como script/continuista junto a directores como Fernando Trueba, Cesc Gay, David Trueba, Javier Rebollo y Lucile Hadzihalilovic. También fue programadora en el Festival Internacional Cinema Jove de Valencia. Escribió y dirigió varios documentales y cortometrajes; el último, 3/105, fue seleccionado en el Festival de Venecia. Su primer largometraje, Vasil (2022), se estrenó en el Festival Internacional de Varsovia, y obtuvo el premio a Mejor Actor en SEMINCI.

A Spanish director and screenwriter, she is an architect, a profession she practiced before devoting herself to film. She worked as script supervisor with directors such as Fernando Trueba, Cesc Gay, David Trueba, Javier Rebollo and Lucile Hadzihalilovic. She was also a programmer at the Cinema Jove International Festival in Valencia. She wrote and directed several documentaries and short films; the latest, 3/105, was selected for the Venice Film Festival. Her first feature film, Vasil (2022), premiered at the Warsaw International Film Festival and won the Best Actor award at SEMINCI.

Emilija Sluškonytė

Alumna de la Universidad de las Artes de Londres, ha colaborado con algunas de las más grandes compañías cinematográficas y publicitarias de Europa. Tras cinco años de experiencia laboral en Reino Unido, se asoció con Acme Film, donde trabajó como productora de desarrollo para los países bálticos. En 2019 fundó Austrè Studio, con la misión de amplificar las voces de una nueva generación de guionistas y directores. En 2022 recibió el premio Producer’s Network Award en el Festival de Cannes por ser pionera en nuevas soluciones de producción sostenible en Lituania.

A student at the University of the Arts in London, she has collaborated with some of the largest film and advertising companies in Europe. After five years of work experience in the United Kingdom, she partnered with Acme Film, where she worked as a development producer for the Baltic countries. In 2019, she founded Austrè Studio, with a mission to amplify the voices of a new generation of writers and directors. In 2022, she received the Producer’s Network Award at the Cannes Film Festival for pioneering new sustainable production solutions in Lithuania. 

Sook-Yin Lee

Cineasta, música, actriz, artista multimedia y presentadora de radio y televisión (CBC Radio & TV, BBC, MuchMusic) que reside en Toronto. Protagonizó la innovadora película Shortbus, de John Cameron Mitchell, que se estrenó en el Festival de Cannes, e hizo su debut como guionista y directora en el TIFF con Year of the Carnivore. En 2014, ganó el Canadian Screen Award a la mejor interpretación de una actriz dramática por su rol en Jack (2013). Compuso muchas bandas sonoras de películas, entre ellas Infinity Pool y Antiviral, de Brandon Cronenberg.

A filmmaker, musician, actor, multimedia artist and radio and TV presenter (CBC Radio & TV, BBC, MuchMusic) based in Toronto. She starred in John Cameron Mitchell’s groundbreaking Shortbus, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival, and made her debut as a writer-director at TIFF with Year of the Carnivore. In 2014, she won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by a Lead Dramatic Actress for her role in Jack (2013). She composed the score for many films including Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool and Antiviral.

Leandro Listorti

Cineasta, productor, programador y archivista. Trabaja en los márgenes del metraje de archivo y las prácticas experimentales. Se desempeñó como programador de cine en el Bafici durante diez años, y desde 2015 está a cargo de la Coordinación Técnica y Programación del Museo del Cine de Buenos Aires. En 2018 fue artista residente en el Living Archive (Arsenal Berlín) y en 2019 participó en el taller Caring for Artists’ Films del MoMA. Dictó clases en la Universidad del Cine, Untref, Unsam, Unpaz y en la EICTV (Cuba). En 2016 fundó MaravillaCine junto a Paula Zyngierman.

A filmmaker, producer, programmer and archivist, he works on the fringes of archive footage and experimental practices. He was a film programmer at Bafici for ten years, and since 2015 he has been in charge of Technical Coordination and Programming at the Buenos Aires Film Museum. In 2018 he was artist in residence at the Living Archive (Arsenal Berlin) and in 2019 he participated in the Caring for Artists’ Films workshop at MoMA. He has taught at Universidad del Cine, Untref, Unsam, Unpaz and at the EICTV (Cuba). In 2016 he founded MaravillaCine alongside Paula Zyngierman.

Paola Michaels

Realizadora y artista visual nacida en Colombia. Estudió diseño y cursó la maestría en Lenguajes Combinados en la UNA. Tiene un diplomado en Estética y Habitabilidad. Sus films han participado en festivales y espacios como Visions du Réel, La Cinémathèque, Bafici, Chicago Film Festival y Vilnius International Short Film Festival, entre otros. Fue jurado de proyectos de Proimágenes Colombia, programadora en la Muestra de Cine Colombiano en MALBA y en la Muestra de Cortometrajes Colombianos en el FAB Bariloche.

A Colombian-born filmmaker and visual artist. She studied design and completed a master’s degree in Combined Languages at the UNA. She has a diploma in Aesthetics and Habitability. Her films have been shown at festivals and venues such as Visions du Réel, La Cinémathèque, Bafici, Chicago Film Festival and Vilnius International Short Film Festival, among others. She was a project judge for Proimágenes Colombia, and programmer for the Colombian Film Exhibit at MALBA and the Colombian Short Film Exhibit at FAB Bariloche.

Sol Miraglia

(1989, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Directora de cine y fotógrafa especializada en la revalorización de archivos fotográficos, los cuales reinterpreta desde una perspectiva contemporánea y los vincula con movimientos globales, historias políticas y figuras locales. Dirigió documentales como Foto Estudio Luisita (Bafici ‘18), Cuando el Olimpo choca con la Pampa (Bafici ‘21) y Café de Kinema. Sus proyectos se extienden a exposiciones, como Temporada Fulgor (MALBA, 2021). Actualmente, desarrolla proyectos interdisciplinarios que exploran la relación entre archivos y movimientos globales contemporáneos.

A film director and photographer specializing in the reappraisal of photographic archives, which she reinterprets from a contemporary perspective and links to global movements, political histories and local figures. She has directed documentaries such as Foto Estudio Luisita (Bafici ’18), Cuando el Olimpo choca con la Pampa (Bafici ’21) and Café de Kinema. Her projects also include exhibits, such as Temporada Fulgor (MALBA, 2021). She is currently developing interdisciplinary projects that explore the relationship between archives and contemporary global movements.

Jara Yáñez

Es directora de la revista Caimán Cuadernos de Cine desde enero de 2022. Desde 2014 ejerce como profesora en el máster de Crítica de Cine de la ECAM, y es colaboradora habitual del programa Historia de nuestro cine de la televisión pública española. Es licenciada en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, donde posteriormente realizó estudios de doctorado en Historia del Cine. Autora de varios libros sobre la industria cinematográfica, formó parte del comité de programación de DocumentaMadrid en dos etapas distintas y colabora con el comité de selección de cortometrajes del Festival de Alcalá de Henares desde 2011.

She has been the director of the magazine Caimán Cuadernos de Cine since January 2022. Since 2014, she has been a professor in the master’s degree in Film Criticism at ECAM, and is a regular contributor to the program Historia de nuestro cine on Spanish public television. She has a degree in Art History from the Autonomous University of Madrid, where she later studied for a doctorate in Film History. The author of several books on the film industry, she was a member of the programming committee at DocumentaMadrid on two separate occasions and has been working with the short film selection committee of the Alcalá de Henares Film Festival since 2011.

Bebe Kamin

(1943, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Comenzó en el cine como editor de sonido de Players vs. Ángeles caídos (1968), dirigida por Alberto Fischerman. Durante más de una década se desempeñó como director de sonido, y trabajó con reconocidos directores como Jorge Cedrón, Edgardo Cozarinsky y Leopoldo Torre Nilsson, entre otros. Como director realizó, entre otras, las películas El búho (1974), Adiós Sui Generis (1976) y Los chicos de la guerra (1984). También realizó programas de televisión y documentales, y fue jurado en numerosos festivales internacionales. Creó y coordinó el concurso Historias Breves (1994), producido por el INCAA durante treinta años. Actualmente es profesor titular en la FUC.

(1943, Buenos Aires, Argentina). He started in the film industry as sound editor on Players vs. Ángeles caídos (1968), directed by Alberto Fischerman. Alejo Moguillansky

Director, productor, guionista y montajista, forma parte junto a Mariano Llinás, Laura Citarella y Agustín Mendilaharzu de El Pampero Cine. Sus películas –entre las que se cuentan Castro (2009), El loro y el cisne (2013), El escarabajo de oro (2014), La vendedora de fósforos (2017), La Edad Media (2022) y Un andantino (2023)– han sido estrenadas en Cannes, Berlín, Locarno y Viennale, entre otros festivales, y fueron objeto de retrospectivas en todo el mundo. Ganó en cuatro ocasiones el premio a Mejor Película Argentina en el Bafici. Trabaja en colaboración con Luciana Acuña y Grupo Krapp, es profesor en la Universidad del Cine y miembro del comité de redacción de Revista de Cine.

A director, producer, screenwriter and editor, he is part of El Pampero Cine along with Mariano Llinás, Laura Citarella and Agustín Mendilaharzu. His films -including Castro (2009), The Parrot and the Swan (2013), The Gold Bug (2014), The Little Match Girl (2017), The Middle Ages (2022) and Un andantino (2023)- have premiered at Cannes, Berlin, Locarno and Viennale, among other festivals, and were the subject of retrospectives all over the world. He won the Best Argentine Film award at Bafici four times. He works in collaboration with Luciana Acuña and Grupo Krapp, is a professor at the Universidad del Cine and a member of the editorial board of Revista de Cine.

Alejandra Radano

En su trayectoria como actriz se destacan los roles principales en musicales como Drácula de Pepe Cibrián Campoy, Cats, La Bella y la Bestia, Chicago y Cabaret. Trabajó para Alfredo Arias y René de Ceccaty en la comedia musical Concha Bonita, para Jean Michel Ribes en la opereta René l’énervé, y para Gonzalo Demaría en Happyland, obra en la que interpreta a la ex presidenta María Estela Martínez de Perón. Su primer protagónico en cine fue Fanny camina (Bafici ‘22), dirigida por Ignacio Masllorens y Alfredo Arias. Recibió el Konex de Platino como intérprete del Espectáculo Musical Argentino y es Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres por sus labores teatrales en Francia.

Her career as an actress includes the leading roles in musicals such as Pepe Cibrián Campoy’s Dracula, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago and Cabaret. She worked for Alfredo Arias and René de Ceccaty in the musical comedy Concha Bonita, for Jean Michel Ribes in the operetta René l’énervé, and for Gonzalo Demaría in Happyland, a play in which she plays former president María Estela Martínez de Perón. Her first leading role in a film was Fanny Walks (Bafici ’22), directed by Ignacio Masllorens and Alfredo Arias. She received the Platinum Konex award as a performer of the Espectáculo Musical Argentino and is a Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her theatrical work in France.

Hernán Rosselli

Estudió guion y realización en el CIEVYC, y montaje en la ENERC. También estudió filosofía y música. Es el creador y editor de la publicación de cine Las Naves, realizada en colaboración con la revista alemana Revolver. En 2014 estrenó Mauro en la Competencia Internacional del Bafici, en la que ganó el Premio Fipresci y el Premio Especial del Jurado. También realizó el corto Un cuento de navidad (Bafici ‘16), parte de la película colectiva Cine Escuela, el documental Casa del Teatro (Bafici ‘18) y Algo viejo, algo nuevo, algo prestado (2024, premiada en FICUNAM y el Festival de Lima). Actualmente trabaja en su próximo proyecto, La escuela pesada.

He studied screenwriting and filmmaking at CIEVYC, and editing at ENERC. He also studied philosophy and music. He is the creator and editor of the film publication Las Naves, produced in collaboration with German magazine Revolver. In 2014, he premiered Mauro in Bafici’s International Competition, where it won the Fipresci Award and the Special Jury Prize. He also made the short film Un cuento de navidad (Bafici ’16), part of the collective film Cine Escuela, the documentary Casa del Teatro (Bafici ’18), and Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed (2024, awarded at FICUNAM and Lima Film Festival). He currently works in his next project, La escuela pesada.
