Sinopsis

Nina y Fermín pasan la noche en el barrio donde su padre es guardia de seguridad. Entre luces y sombras, caminan, juegan, comen. Nina observa a otros en silencio, como si se viera en un espejo a punto de romperse. La noche avanza sigilosa, mientras otros niños los miran desde sus ventanas.

Nina and Fermín spend the night in the neighborhood where their father is a security guard. Between lights and shadows, they walk, play, eat. Nina observes others in silence, as though she were looking at herself in a mirror that is about to break. The night moves stealthily on, while other children watch them from their windows.

Apontes es productora y documentalista. Trabajó en la producción de más de 15 largos. Muñoz se dedica a la realización audiovisual con especialización en vestuario y diseño de personajes. Juntas codirigieron los cortos Backwards (2014) y Ciudad (2015).

Bajo la sospecha de una intemperie absoluta, hay dos niños que cruzan la noche como si fueran reyes, como si cada recoveco les perteneciera, como si su propia intuición les bastara, como si una música secreta guiara sus pasos. Nocturno, este bello cortometraje sobre el enigma de, simplemente, habitar el mundo, parece conducirse auspiciado por la idea –primera, inevitable– de que los pequeños protagonistas están librados a su suerte. Las directoras, sin embargo, tienen otro asunto entre manos. Con absoluta destreza y convicción, hacen que las imágenes circulen entre la tranquilidad nocturna y la extraña dicha de los movimientos de sus personajes, esa autonomía insultante, que parece concebida como virtud indelegable de quien hace del mundo su morada. Under the suspicion of an absolute openness, there are two children who cross the night as if they were kings, as if every nook and cranny belonged to them, as if their own intuition were enough for them, as if a secret music were guiding their steps. Nocturne, this beautiful short film about the enigma of simply inhabiting the world, seems to be driven by the idea -first, inevitable- that the small protagonists are left to their own devices. The directors, however, have another matter on their hands. With absolute skill and conviction, they make the images circulate between the nocturnal quietness and the strange bliss of their characters' movements, that insulting autonomy that seems to be conceived as a non-delegable virtue of those who make the world their home.
