Sinopsis

Juan vuelve a Argentina tras vivir cinco años en España y se queda en la casa de su amiga Laura, de quien está enamorado. Tras ser rechazado, reaparece Paula, una conocida de hace años que confiesa gustar de él, desatando los celos de Laura.

Juan returns to Argentina after living in Spain for five years and stays at the home of his friend Laura, with whom he is in love. After being rejected, Paula, an acquaintance from years ago, reappears and confesses her feelings for him, sparking Laura's jealousy.

(1991, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Es Lic. en Gestión de Medios y Entretenimiento por la UADE. Trabaja como guionista desde 2013 y dirigió varios largos, entre ellos, Último recurso, película de Apertura del Bafici ‘23, y Las reglas del juego (Bafici ‘25).

Matías Szulanski filma cada vez más rápido, como si el cine, o quizá la fiebre del cine lo empujara. Más películas, más velocidad, más inventos. También filma cada vez mejor, con más seguridad y ligereza, como si las historias se le acumularan en la cabeza y toda su habilidad para la comedia se refinara un poco en cada impulso. Ahora vuelve a exhibir esa levedad contra todo obstáculo, un poco como si los personajes flotaran, desentendidos del guion, de la verosimilitud de las situaciones, de cualquier cosa que no sea seguir adelante, metiéndose en más líos, complicándose más, creando más y más comedia. Es la idea del cine como obstinación del movimiento, de los desplazamientos; del overlapping y la acumulación diagramada como motor esencial en la concepción de las imágenes. David Obarrio

Matías Szulanski shoots faster and faster, as if cinema, or perhaps the fever of cinema, were driving him on. More films, more speed, more inventions. He also shoots better and better, with more confidence and lightness, as if the stories were accumulating in his head and his skill for comedy were being refined a little with each impulse. Now he once again displays that lightness in the face of every obstacle, as though the characters were floating, oblivious to the script, to the plausibility of the situations, to anything other than moving forward, getting into more trouble, complicating things further, creating more and more comedy. It is the idea of cinema as an obstinacy of movement, of displacement; of overlapping and accumulation diagrammed as an essential engine in the conception of images. DO
