Sinopsis

Gladys huye de su marido y se refugia con sus hijos en Oberá, al norte de Argentina. Entre rutinas y visitas, la vida es atravesada por la oscuridad del barrio, los controles policiales nocturnos y la desaparición de mujeres que trabajan en la ruta.

Gladys flees from her husband and takes refuge with her children in Oberá, in northern Argentina. Between routines and visits, life is overshadowed by the darkness of the neighborhood, nighttime police checks, and the disappearance of women who work on the road.

Lucas Koziarski

(1995, Misiones, Argentina). Estudió realización cinematográfica en la ENERC. Trabajó como director de arte en varios films, entre ellos, Las mil y una de Clarisa Navas e Hijo mayor de Cecilia Kang. Es docente de dirección de arte en la ENERC.

Reseña / Review

Lo primero que salta a la vista en una película como esta es el modo soberano con que establece su mundo, sus personajes, su habla, su manera de relacionarse, la forma de intemperie que les es propia y en la que se vive naturalmente. Todas esas cosas existen, nos son familiares, pero la película logra la ilusión de haberlas inventado, como si fueran parte de un ajustado rito de pasaje capaz de franquear las puertas que conducen de la realidad a la ficción. Sin golpes de efecto ni énfasis de sordidez alguno, la película hace desfilar escenas que podrían pertenecer a un pequeño purgatorio en el que no cabe esperar otra cosa que alguna clase de tragedia inminente. Pero hasta eso parece habérsele negado a este alevoso ecosistema de callada tristeza en el que solo cabe languidecer resignadamente. David Obarrio

The first thing that stands out in a film like this is the masterful way it establishes its world, its characters, their speech, their interactions, and the raw, unvarnished reality that is uniquely their own and in which they live so naturally. All these things exist; they are familiar to us, yet the film creates the illusion of having invented them, as if they were part of a carefully crafted rite of passage capable of opening the doors that lead from reality to fiction. Without any sensationalism or emphasis on sordidness, the film presents a series of scenes that could belong to a small purgatory where one can expect nothing but some kind of imminent tragedy. But even that seems to have been denied to this treacherous ecosystem of quiet sadness, where one can only languish in resignation. DO
