Sinopsis

El doctor Vlidi Mazo sufre una enfermedad terminal que osifica su piel. Inspirado por su propia sangre, un diente, la escama de un pez y la piel de una uva, emprende la creación de una cura para salvarse.

Dr. Vlidi Mazo suffers from a terminal illness that ossifies his skin. Inspired by his own blood, a tooth, a fish scale and the skin of a grape, he sets out to create a cure to save himself.

Nir posproduce su primer largo documental Obra del demonio (Mecenazgo Cultural 2024) y trabaja como asistente de cámara en cine. Amanzi trabaja como DF, gaffer y foquista en cine, videoclips y publicidad. Olivero Llamas trabaja en el mundo audiovisual en el área de fotografía y dirección. Los tres estudian Diseño de Imagen y Sonido en la UBA.

Nir is post-producing his first feature-length documentary, Obra del demonio (Mecenazgo Cultural 2024), and works as a camera assistant in film. Amanzi works as a director of photography, gaffer, and focus puller in film, music videos, and advertising. Olivero Llamas works in the audiovisual world in the areas of photography and directing. All three are studying Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

Esta película bien podría ser una aventura, la de la génesis de un mundo que solo puede existir en el cine, que obliga a inventar un sistema de coordenadas, un lenguaje, una forma de ser y de estar, una pequeña epopeya. Pero también es una película que respira en sus referencias, que conecta indirectamente con Lon Chaney, con Velasco Broca, con The Children of the Dead (aquella comedia extrema de Kelly Copper y Pavol Liska que tuvimos en el 21 Bafici); y que, ante todo, tiende un puente directo con Frankenstein para, a su modo, revivir otra vez en pantalla a la criatura. Proeza de la imaginación y de la solvencia para materializar las ideas más radicales, Vlidi Mazo desarma el mundo y lo reconfigura en algo lejano y próximo a la vez. Magdalena Arau

This film could very well be an adventure—the story of the genesis of a world that can only exist in cinema, one that compels us to invent a system of coordinates, a language, a way of being and existing, a small-scale epic. But it is also a film that breathes through its references, indirectly connecting with Lon Chaney, with Velasco Broca, with The Children of the Dead (that extreme comedy from Kelly Copper and Pavol Liska that we saw at the 21st Bafici); and, above all, it builds a direct bridge with Frankenstein to, in its own way, bring the creature back to life on screen once again. A feat of imagination and skill in bringing the most radical ideas to life, Vlidi Mazo dismantles the world and reconfigures it into something at once distant and close. MA
