Sinopsis

Entre archivos dispersos y escritura íntima, una preadolescente recuerda su crecimiento en Sarandí en los años 90: televisión, familia, barrio y viajes en colectivo. Un viaje a Cuba con su padre resignifica esa etapa y marca el final de la infancia.

Through scattered files and personal writings, a preteen recalls growing up in Sarandí in the 1990s: television, family, neighborhood, and bus rides. A trip to Cuba with her father gives new meaning to that period and marks the end of childhood.

Cuando éramos chicos, nuestros padres no querían que viéramos tanta tele porque pensaban que íbamos a volvernos tontos. No pensaron nunca que el peligro era que nuestro pensamiento se conformara con una lógica del zapping. Los buenos tiempos explora cómo la adolescencia mediada por la TV se narra a sí misma. Azul Lombardía expone sus diarios íntimos con verborragia y los acompaña de imágenes ascéticas y repetitivas: los días son todos iguales, el tiempo pasa solo en las fechas que se dicen. Los buenos tiempos entiende que lo escrito no necesariamente se recuerda, pero lo filmado tiene mucha más supervivencia. When we were kids, our parents didn't want us to watch so much TV because they thought it would make us stupid. They never thought that the danger was that our thinking would become shaped by the logic of channel surfing. The Good Times explores how adolescence mediated by TV tells its own story. Azul Lombardía exposes her intimate diaries with verbosity and accompanies them with ascetic and repetitive images: the days are all the same, time passes only on the dates that are mentioned. The Good Times understands that what is written is not necessarily remembered, but what is filmed has much more staying power. If we live through images, what meaning can words have for us? VR
