(1971, Buenos Aires). Estudió en la Universidad del Cine. Dirigió largos como Sábado (Bafici ‘01), Los suicidas (Bafici ‘06), Victoria (Bafici ‘15), Adán Buenosayres. La película (Bafici ‘16) y Las Vegas (Bafici ‘18). También produjo películas de Celina Murga y Gonzalo Tobal, entre otros.

El modo imperativo del título no pertenece al campo de los signos de la retórica sino al de la ética. La posición de la película es clara. Se trata de testimonios; cosa sencilla a simple vista, pero para lograr esa condición diáfana hay que pensar y trabajar mucho la forma. Quienes tienen la palabra pertenecen en general al viejo funcionariato de las organizaciones armadas, que hablan a cámara, menos embarcados en una ceremonia de expiación que de recapitulación de sus propios actos, que semejan narraciones antiguas de un país alucinatorio. En verdad, la película es hipnótica: Villegas administra con una destreza apabullante los largos planos, las voces, los bellos y dolorosos interludios musicales con material de archivo, y convierte la experiencia de la primera persona en un relato sin coartadas ni excusas. The imperative mode of the title does not belong to the field of rhetoric but to that of ethics. The film's position is clear. It is about testimonies; something simple at first glance, but to achieve that transparency, a lot of thought and work must go into the form. Those who have their say generally belong to the old guard of armed organizations, who speak to the camera, less engaged in a ceremony of atonement than in a recapitulation of their own actions, which resemble ancient narratives of a hallucinatory country. In truth, the film is hypnotic: Villegas skillfully manages the wide shots, the voices, the beautiful and painful musical interludes with archival footage, and turns the first-person experience into a story without alibis or excuses.
