Xul es Xul, casi no hace falta agregar nada. El nombre tiene resonancias astrales. Se asocia a mundos extraños, a recovecos inhollados del cosmos, a culturas precolombinas. Su amistad con Borges es un capítulo aparte. Más que nada está su obra, que abarca distintas disciplinas con una altivez ensimismada que supo apartarlo de todo e investirlo con un halo de rareza aún inexpugnable. Hay aquí un esmerado repaso sobre Xul y su misterio. Todo es muy sobrio y dedicado, sin derivas alambicadas; solo estan Xul y su universo, ese paisaje vasto en el que caben más cosas de las que una película como esta puede abarcar. He ahí su definitivo triunfo: el modo en que se las arregla para maniobrar a la hora de presentar a su figura como esencialmente esquiva, un enigma quizá sin esperanzas. David Obarrio

Xul is Xul, there is almost no need to say anything else. The name has astral resonances. It is associated with strange worlds, untrodden corners of the cosmos, pre-Columbian cultures.
