Sinopsis
Las filmaciones caseras hechas en Le Thuit, Alta Normandía, por el abogado y pionero amateur Gérald Fleury (1877-1930) dan pie a una indagación poética y casi detectivesca sobre la imagen cinematográfica.
The home movies made in Le Thuit, Upper Normandy, by attorney and amateur pioneer Gérald Fleury (1877-1930) give rise to a poetic and almost detective-like investigation of the cinematic image.

Un texto introductorio nos informa que Gérald Fleury falleció misteriosamente luego de filmar a su familia en los jardines del château de Le Thuit en 1930. La película casera está compuesta de breves escenas de la vida cotidiana que remiten a los orígenes del cine. En el presente, alguien examina las imágenes en una mesa de montaje cautivado por uno de los rostros. La cámara regresa al espacio deshabitado, vacío, animado por las sombras del pasado. Colores vibrantes inundan la gran casa desierta mientras la vida de sus habitantes permanece en un blanco y negro silencioso. Las imágenes se superponen, se ralentizan, se congelan y se amplían para una nueva perspectiva. An introductory text informs us that Gérald Fleury died mysteriously after filming his family in the gardens of the Château de Le Thuit in 1930. The home movie consists of brief scenes from everyday life that hark back to the origins of cinema. In the present, someone examines the images on an editing table, captivated by one of the faces. The camera returns to the uninhabited, empty space, animated by the shadows of the past. Vibrant colors flood the large deserted house, while the lives of its inhabitants remain in silent black and white. The images overlap, slow down, freeze, and enlarge for a new perspective. Train of Shadows challenges the active viewer with a lucid reflection on the gaze, subjectivity, and time. AP
