Fines de los años 80. Un joven filma en VHS una película confrontando a sus caseros, que buscan echarlo de la casa que comparten. Poco después, en su nuevo departamento, el joven continúa la película, esta vez enfrentando a su exnovia por una infidelidad.

Pocas veces el cine provoca el escozor propio de quien asiste, como un testigo privilegiado, casi pudoroso, a los hechos en su inmediatez, en su exposición extrema. El salto al vacío de lo imprevisto, de lo que inopinadamente, como en un aluvión, se vuelca sin más. Con sus espacios, con sus palabras, con sus cuerpos incluso fechados en un aquí y ahora muy precisos (los de la Buenos Aires del final de la primavera democrática), esas imágenes, como todo buen cine, tienen algo que decir del presente: en una época en la que las imágenes pretendidamente reales no son más que un sobrepaso del artificio que solo logran negar la realidad, la cegadora crudeza en las imágenes de la película de González adquiere un efecto purificador. The late 1980s. A young man shoots a film on VHS confronting his landlords, who are trying to kick him out of the house they share. Soon after, in his new apartment, the young man continues the film, this time confronting his ex-girlfriend about an infidelity.

Rarely does cinema provoke the sting of those who attend, as privileged, almost modest witnesses, to the facts in their immediacy, in their extreme exposure. The leap into the void of the unforeseen, of what unexpectedly, as in an avalanche, just pours out. With their spaces, with their words, with their bodies even dated in a very precise here and now (those of Buenos Aires at the end of the transition to democracy), these images, like all good cinema, have something to say about the present: in an era in which supposedly real images are nothing more than a surplus of artifice that only manage to deny reality, the blinding rawness of the images in Gonzalez's film acquires a purifying effect.
