Sinopsis

Benoît construyó su paraíso secreto en un mundo rural que parece chocar con su identidad. Un día, junto a otros queer locales, organiza la primera Marcha del Orgullo en Périgord, buscando recuperar espacio, celebrar, sanar y abrir camino al cambio.

Benoît built his secret paradise in a rural world seemingly at odds with his identity. One day, he and other local queers organize Périgord’s first Pride to reclaim space, celebrate, heal, and pave the way for change.

(1990, Francia). Tras estudiar Antropología en la EHESS en Toulouse, se graduó en la Escuela de Documentales de Lussas. Su primer corto, Et des ruines que tu me laisses, fue seleccionado en numerosos festivales internacionales.

Acá no se “descubre” nada, sencillamente porque no hay nada a ser descubierto: el director pertenece al mundo, o al “colectivo” retratado, y los protagonistas no son animalitos de laboratorio frente a la cámara; más bien las imágenes recorren un territorio que no les es ajeno: todo es diáfano y claro, seguramente porque esta es también una película sobre la luz, el aire, el bosque. En la pantalla todos los personajes tienen vida, que es la de su entorno y también la propia: tienen una vida, son personas antes que casos destinados a ser parte de un anecdotario sociológico. La película recupera el costado civilizatorio de la organización civil; la construcción de ciudadanía responsable, la movilización como usina de la conformación pública y afirmación propia. Nothing is “discovered” here, simply because there is nothing to be discovered: the director belongs to the world, or to the “collective” portrayed, and the protagonists are not lab animals in front of the camera; rather, the images travel through a territory that is not alien to them: everything is diaphanous and clear, probably because this is also a film about light, air, the forest. On the screen all the characters have life, which is that of their environment and also their own: they have a life, they are people rather than cases destined to be part of a sociological anecdotal. The film recovers the civilizing side of civil organization; the construction of responsible citizenship, mobilization as fuel for public conformation and self-affirmation. MR
