Cada tanto, uno se encuentra con una de esas películas que hasta nos pueden llevar a decir “por acá cantaba Rohmer”. O, dicho de forma más seria, el título de esta fulgurante ópera prima de Valentine Cadic conecta con los de dos films de Rohmer como Les rendez-vous de Paris y Conte d’été. Así de ambiciosa es la referencia, y así de pletórica de gracia y talento es esta película, como para referirse doblemente al maestro y no solamente salir airosa sino además legar un personaje inolvidable como Blandine, y para acumular momentos de belleza, de esos que quizás apenas se noten durante el fluir de la narración pero que permanecen en la memoria que tenemos asignada a los sorpresivos encuentros fílmicos signados por el encanto vital. Every now and then, one comes across one of those films that might even lead one to say “this is where Rohmer used to sing.” Or, to put it more seriously, the title of Valentine Cadic's brilliant debut feature connects with the titles of two Rohmer films, Les rendez-vous de Paris and Conte d'été. That's how ambitious the reference is, and that's how full of grace and talent this film is, to refer doubly to the master and not only succeed but also bequeath an unforgettable character as Blandine, and accumulate moments of beauty, of those that may hardly be noticed during the flow of the narrative but that remain in the memory that we have assigned to the surprising film encounters marked by vital enchantment.
