Sinopsis

Agathe ama los tractores y el rock. Trabaja en el taller junto a su padre y su hermano mayor. Cuando se entera de un concurso de air guitar, decide participar, aunque su hermano no esté de acuerdo.

Agathe loves tractors and rock. She works in the family farm machinery garage with her father and older brother. When she finds out about an upcoming air guitar competition, she decides to enter, but her brother doesn’t see it that way.

(1993, Francia) Se formó en La Cie Maritime mientras estudiaba Teatro y Artes Escénicas. En París exploró otro lenguaje con la música y el canto. Coescribió una opereta de máscaras, Les Éternelles, con Emma Santini, antes de realizar cursos de escritura con la asociación 1000 Visages.

(1993, France) She trained with La Cie Maritime while studying Theatre and Performing Arts. In Paris, she explored another language with music and singing. She co-wrote a masked operetta, Les Éternelles, with Emma Santini, before taking writing courses with the 1000 Visages association.

Si el coming of age va de niños que ingresan en el mundo adulto, Lady Attila nos envuelve en el relato inverso: Ágathe es una adulta que se niega a que el mundo del trabajo la absorba y continúa jugando con su imaginación. En este relato con guiños a La Cenicienta, el hada madrina es una rockera y la princesa no quiere ir al baile, sino a un concurso en donde no ganará nada más que poder seguir haciendo lo que le gusta: hacer de cuenta que toca la guitarra como una estrella de rock. Con imágenes ensoñadoras, música energética y una interpretación adorable, Appoline Andreys logra un cortometraje realmente fresco en el que nos muestra que el triunfo no es ganarse el futuro, sino poder jugar en un eterno presente. If coming-of-age tales are about children entering the adult world, Lady Attila envelops us in the opposite story: Ágathe is an adult who refuses to be absorbed by the world of work and continues to play with her imagination. In this story with nods to Cinderella, the fairy godmother is a rocker and the princess doesn't want to go to the ball, but to a contest where she will win nothing more than being able to continue doing what she loves: pretending to play the guitar like a rock star. With dreamlike images, energetic music, and an adorable performance, Appoline Andreys has created a truly fresh short film in which she shows us that success is not about earning the future, but about being able to play in an eternal present.
