Sinopsis

En Vicenza una joven pareja adinerada celebra el nacimiento de su añorada hija. Pero una marca roja cubre la mitad del rostro de la niña, lo que obsesiona a su madre hasta que la rechaza. Su tía, una célebre pianista, asume su crianza y descubre su extraordinario talento musical.

In Vicenza, a young wealthy couple joyfully welcomes the birth of a long awaited daughter. But a red birthmark covers half of the child’s face, which haunts the mother to the point of rejection. The child’s aunt, a famous concert pianist, takes over her education, thus discovering her exceptional musical talent.

Películas italianas como La vita accanto solían estrenarse comercialmente en los cines argentinos y ahora hay que verlas en un festival de cine. Y sí, hay que ver La vita accanto: cine italiano ejecutado y pensado –en el guion está Marco Bellocchio– con grandeza, complejidad, contundencia, brío y esa histórica capacidad peninsular para asomarse sin melindres a las emociones y a los fantasmas de diversos tonos. La vita accanto cuenta las primeras décadas de vida de Rebecca, que nace signada por una marca, una mancha, una perturbación a su alrededor. En este melodrama familiar y social de los que no abundan, Giordana relata momentos clave del crecimiento de Rebecca y demuestra que sabe contar la infancia como pocos otros directores.
