Película concentrada, incluso encerrada –la intempestiva salida nocturna es otro encierro, otro círculo–, La noche sin mí se presenta con la evidencia de una pesadilla, pero no una de esas frontalmente macabras sino de otro orden: la pesadilla que se va revelando en algo que está corrido de lugar, con algún otro elemento que insiste con su poder perturbador y recurrente, con la certeza –experimentada con desazón– de que quienes están alrededor ni siquiera son conscientes de su contribución a la progresiva caída. La protagonista, centro absoluto, es centrípeta y centrífuga, y Natalia Oreiro la interpreta con esas y otras complejidades, con la sutil evidencia del aplomo y la prestancia de las verdaderas actrices de cine. A contained film, even an enclosed one -the untimely nighttime departure is another enclosure, another circle-, The Night without Me is presented with the evidence of a nightmare—not of the frontally macabre kind, but one of another order: the nightmare that reveals itself in something that is out of place, with some other element that insists with its disturbing and recurrent power, with the certainty -experienced with uneasiness- that those around are not even aware of their contribution to a progressive downfall. The protagonist, the film’s absolute center, is centripetal and centrifugal, and Natalia Oreiro plays her with these and other complexities, with the subtle evidence of the poise and grace of true film actresses.
