Síntesis de las filmaciones clandestinas y políticas de Portabella, rodada tras la muerte de Franco. Un documental hecho con recursos de ficción que se pregunta cómo pasar de una dictadura a un Estado de derecho.

(1929, Figueras, España). Con su productora Films 59 estuvo detrás de películas como El cochecito (1960), de Marco Ferreri, y Viridiana (1961), de Luis Buñuel. Entre sus películas como director se encuentran Vampir-Cuadecuc (1970), exhibida en el foco que le dedicó el Bafici ‘06, y Die Stille vor Bach (Bafici ‘08).

He directed several films, including Vampir-Cuadecuc (1970), screened in the focus on his work held by Bafici ’06 and The Silence Before Bach (2007; Bafici ’08).

Esta película constituye la síntesis de las filmaciones clandestinas abiertamente políticas de Portabella y su entorno. Rodada en los meses posteriores a la muerte del general Franco, se trata de un film documental realizado con las técnicas de un film de ficción. Coherente eslabón en una filmografía dirigida a explorar los límites de la representación fílmica, Informe general trataba de la futura representación política en la transición española, con una clara vocación democrática contradicha por su virtual “invisibilidad” durante treinta años. This film constitutes the synthesis of the clandestine, openly political films by Portabella and his circle. Shot in the months following General Franco’s death, this is a documentary made with the techniques usually associated with a fiction film. A natural link in a filmography designed to explore the limits of film representation, General Report dealt with future political representation during the Spanish transition, with a clear democratic vocation countered by the fact that it was virtually "invisible” for thirty years. 2006 Catalogue
