(1952, Inglaterra). Director considerado uno de los descubridores del punk rock. Entre su obra se destacan producciones sobre los Sex Pistols y los Rolling Stones. El Bafici ‘08 le dedicó un foco y lo recibió como invitado. Volvió a visitarnos en Bafici ‘19.

(1952, England). A director considered one of the discoverers of punk rock. The highlights in his work are productions about Sex Pistols and the Rolling Stones. He had his own focus at Bafici ‘08, to which he came as a guest, and he visited us once more at Bafici ‘19.

Julien Temple es el hombre que ama a sus retratados, aquel que tiene predilección por las ciudades, el rock, la historia y las historias. Esto lo sabemos desde siempre, pero con cada nueva película encontramos una rotunda confirmación. La curiosidad es que Temple sigue haciendo un cine que parece el de un amateur feliz y cantarín. Con un montaje que no cabría llamar de otro modo que espectacular, la película sigue a Pigozzi sin perderle pisada. Pigozzi es un gran personaje, pero la película lo convierte en alguien incluso más grande, más irrepetible, más majestuoso. Julien Temple is a man who loves the subjects of his films—he has a penchant for cities, rock music, history, and stories. We’ve known this all along, but with every new film we find resounding confirmation. The curious thing is that Temple continues to make films that seem like the work of a happy, cheerful amateur. With editing that can only be described as spectacular, the film follows Pigozzi without ever losing sight of him. Pigozzi is a great character, but the film turns him into someone even greater, more unique, more majestic. An extraordinary photographer, he collaborates with Temple on the film, and together they create what could be described as a beautiful photo album of a not always a harmonious family in which no one seems to be missing.
