Bouhénic es escritora y cineasta. Entre sus libros se encuentran L’Alliance, Boxing Parade y 76 façons d’entrer. Desde 1993, dirigió series documentales sobre escritores y películas sobre literatura y arte. Herpe es un crítico, académico y cineasta francés. Trabaja en radio y es curador de arte. Dirigió C’est l’homme, Fantasmes et Fantômes y La Tour de Nesle.

Bouhénic is a writer and filmmaker. Her books include L’Alliance, Boxing Parade and 76 façons d’entrer. Since 1993, she has directed documentary series on writers and films on literature and art. Herpe is a French critic, scholar and filmmaker. He works in radio and is an art curator. He directed C’est l’homme, Fantasmes et Fantômes, and La Tour de Nesle.

La película parte de una premisa singular: el método de Rohmer tiene sus raíces en la infancia del cineasta. Las viejas teteras que aparecen en su casa natal se mezclan con los casetes que contienen largas charlas con actrices mientras toman una taza de té. Para intentar comprender la alquimia rohmeriana, se suman entrevistas, borradores y ensayos inéditos, utilizando pantalla dividida y superposición de voces. Las filmaciones sin sonido en la calle para amoldar los cuerpos de las actrices al entorno descubren una estrategia narrativa que se oculta en los pliegues de los encuentros casuales. The film kicks off from a unique premise: Rohmer's method has its roots in the filmmaker's childhood. The old teapots that appear in his childhood home are mixed with cassette tapes containing long conversations with actresses over a cup of tea. In an attempt to understand Rohmer's alchemy, interviews, drafts, and unpublished essays are added, using split screens and voiceovers. The silent street shots, designed to blend the actresses' bodies into the environment, reveal a narrative strategy hidden in the folds of random encounters. Rohmer believes in chance and takes the risk of playing with it in his films as if he were a child. The documentary creates an irresistible desire to immerse oneself once again in his filmography.
