Sinopsis

En el tramo final de su vida, un albañil catalán se transforma en youtuber y encara su desafío más grande para perpetuar, con su último aliento, las técnicas constructivas del modernismo.

In the final stretch of his life, a Catalan construction worker becomes a youtuber and faces his greatest challenge to perpetuate, with his last breath, the constructive techniques of modernism.

Müller Klug es arquitecto y director. De Elía (1963) es periodista y director y fundó el canal TN. Pérez (1996) tiene experiencia en cortos, videoclips y publicidad. Cortés estudió cine en la Universidad Johannes Gutenberg en Alemania.

Reseña / Review

Hay películas nobles: esta es una de ellas. Y hay películas que alcanzan dicha nobleza porque saben absorber, por algo que podríamos llamar ósmosis vital, las virtudes de su personaje: El Quixot d’Alella es una de ellas. Como Ramon, el simpático constructor septuagenario al que vemos en su intento por construir una bóveda con antiguos métodos catalanes, el cortometraje asume su carácter artesanal, es decir paciente, atento al detalle y sobre todo orgulloso por la sabiduría con que despliega su oficio. Pero, contra todo lo esperable, no hay lugar aquí para la melancolía ni para la mirada autocomplaciente. Como Ramon, la serena alegría, la real sabiduría que destila de inicio a fin es la de quien sabe que todo tiempo futuro es mejor. Sebastián Rosal

There are noble films: this is one of them. And there are films that achieve such nobility because they know how to absorb, by something we could call vital osmosis, the virtues of their character: The Quixote’s Constructions is one of them. Just like Ramon, the sympathetic 70-year-old builder whom we see in his attempt to build a vault with ancient Catalonian methods, the short film assumes its artisanal nature, that is to say, patient, attentive to detail and, above all, proud of the wisdom with which he/it deploys his craft. But, contrary to expectation, there is no room here for melancholy or a self-indulgent gaze. Just like Ramon, the serene joy, the real wisdom exuded from beginning to end is that of one who knows that all future times are better. SR
