Sinopsis

El pueblo de San Carlos sufre una injusticia: la ciudad de Chillán le arrebata el título de Mejor Longaniza de Chile. Ante este robo, un grupo de sancarlinos organiza un movimiento social, decididos a obtener la denominación de origen y así recuperar el orgullo y la dignidad de su pueblo.

The town of San Carlos suffers an injustice: the city of Chillán steals the title of Best Longaniza of Chile away from it. Faced with this theft, a group of people from San Carlos organizes a social movement, determined to obtain the certificate of origin and thus recover the pride and dignity of their town.

Director, guionista, productor y fundador de la productora chilena Equeco. Dirigió numerosos videoclips para artistas chilenos e internacionales. Entre sus cortos se encuentra Por unos caballos (2022), que obtuvo el premio Warner Media.

Reseña / Review

El titular: “Premiaron a la longaniza equivocada: Municipio de Chillán debió rectificar reconocimiento”. La foto: un gendarme, varios presos vestidos de chefs y una salchicha gigante levantan sus pulgares frente al banner de la 2ª Fiesta de la Longaniza. Una noticia 100% real está en el origen –y al comienzo, en una introducción de prodigioso humor en velocidad– de Denominación de origen, falso documental de gracia loca y timing poco menos que perfecto. Y que aprendió del sumo pontífice Christopher Guest a no burlarse de los personajes estrafalarios (y acá hay para hacer dulce, o embutidos a granel) sino a tratarlos con afecto, dejarse contagiar por su locura y cantar con ellos “vecino, vecina, la longaniza es sancarlina”. The photo: a guardsman, several prisoners dressed as chefs and a giant sausage raise their thumbs in front of the banner of the 2nd Longaniza Festival. A 100% true story is at the origin -and at the beginning, in an introduction of prodigious and fast-paced humor- of Designation of Origin, a mockumentary of crazy wit and almost perfect timing. One that learned from supreme pontiff Christopher Guest not to make fun of bizarre characters (and here there are enough to make candy, or sausages in bulk) but to treat them with affection, to be infected by their madness and to sing with them “neighbor, longaniza is from San Carlos.” AM
