Sinopsis

Cartas, fotos, muebles, gorros, pipas, peines, anteojos, plumas, portaplumas, infinitos libros. Un inventario de todas, casi todas, o simplemente algunas cosas que descansan en la casa neocolonial de un hombre que se llamó Ricardo Rojas y escribió, hace cien años, un delirante libro llamado Eurindia.

Letters, photos, furniture, hats, pipes, combs, eyeglasses, pens, pen holders, infinite books. An inventory of all, almost all, or simply some of the things that rest in the neocolonial house of a man whose name was Ricardo Rojas and who, one hundred years ago, wrote a delirious book called Eurindia.

Ragone y Suárez abordan su relato con tono documental, entre el inventario audiovisual y la construcción de la épica de Ricardo Rojas y su espacio más significativo. A través del registro de Eurindia –su casa, su mayor proyecto y un ideal que busca fusionar Europa y la América indígena– no buscan certezas, sino desentrañar el espíritu del intelectual, trayéndolo al presente como en un viaje en el tiempo. ¿Rojas sería instagramer hoy? Las derivas de esta mirada cálida, que se permite una sutil comicidad, construyen un relato lúdico y desobediente, capaz de conectar pasado y presente con cierta picardía. Ragone and Suarez approach their narrative with a documentary tone, between the audiovisual inventory and the construction of Ricardo Rojas' epic and his most significant space. Through the record of Eurindia -his house, his greatest project and an ideal that seeks to merge Europe and indigenous America- they do not seek for certainties, but to unravel the spirit of the intellectual, bringing him to the present as in a journey through time. Would Rojas be an instagrammer today? The drifts of this warm gaze, which indulges in a subtle comicality, build a playful and disobedient narrative, capable of connecting past and present with a certain mischievousness. A short film that moves away from the classic documentary gaze to explore how the figure of intellectuals is reconfigured and multiplied in the digital era. MZ
