Dentro del amplio grupo de películas (documentales, en mayor medida) que han abordado los terribles años de la represión ilegal y sus devastadoras, por siempre perdurables consecuencias, Caían del cielo encuentra, en sus formas y en su tono, la manera de destacarse. Como en un collage, la conmovedora dignidad de Otilia de Silva, las luchas de su nieta Valeria Silva, los recuerdos personales del propio Plataneo, los testimonios (rigurosamente científicos y humanos al mismo tiempo) del fabuloso equipo de antropólogos forenses amalgaman lo público y lo privado hasta hacerlos indiscernibles. “Nuestra venganza es ser felices”, dice Silva. Within the broad group of films (documentaries, to a greater extent) that have dealt with the terrible years of illegal repression and its devastating, but enduring consequences, They Fell from the Sky finds a way to stand out, in its form and tone. As in a collage, the moving dignity of Otilia de Silva, the struggles of her granddaughter Valeria Silva, the personal memories of Plataneo himself, the testimonies (rigorously scientific and human at the same time) of the fabulous team of forensic anthropologists, amalgamate the public and the private until they become indistinguishable. “Our revenge is to be happy,” says Silva. This lively, serious and well-founded, but never solemn, film is a fitting tribute to that idea. SR
