Sinopsis

Tres mujeres convierten la cámara en una herramienta de expresión y juego: desde las grabaciones en VHS de los 80 hasta el auge de TikTok, el documental explora cómo sus videos trascienden lo cotidiano, reinventando mundos y compartiendo creatividad.

Mujeres que portan cámaras: esas cámaras son vehículos, son puertas abiertas a otros mundos. O a mundos que son partes del mismo, pero son capaces de ofrecer otros ángulos y posibilidades de visión y reflexión. Esas mujeres se hacen fuertes con sus cámaras: como ocurre usualmente con el cine de Tomás Lipgot, hay todo un costado venturosamente “educativo” en Amas de cámara, título tan extraño como transparente. Esa parte educativa –llamémosla así– no implica un cine al servicio de ideas ya digeridas, asuntos más propios de ministerios o secretarías. Al contrario, el espíritu de su cine es el de un empecinado humanismo, una aventura del conocimiento y la emoción que conlleva. Women who carry cameras: those cameras are vehicles, they are doors open to other worlds. Or to worlds that are parts of the same, but are capable of offering other angles and possibilities of vision and reflection. These women become strong with their cameras: as it usually happens with Tomás Lipgot's films, there is a whole “educational” side to Ladies of the Lens, a title as strange as it is transparent. That educational side -let's call it that- does not imply a cinema at the service of pre-digested ideas, matters more typical of ministries or departments. On the contrary, the spirit of his cinema is that of a stubborn humanism, an adventure of knowledge and the emotion it entails. Like the one practiced by these women, a cinema on an endless path of emancipation. MR
