Kluge habla de diversidad primitiva sobre los orígenes de su arte: los primeros films, géneros y motivos. Con el avance de la IA, se pregunta: ¿cómo sería su propia diversidad primitiva? Un viaje irónico y agudo por la historia y el futuro de la imagen.

Kluge talks about primitive diversity in relation to the origins of his art: the first films, genres and motives. With the development of AI, Kluge asks, “What could its primitive diversity look like?” A sharp and ironic journey through the history and future of image technology.

Kluge usa la inquietante interpretación que hace la IA del patrimonio visual de la humanidad para crear un artefacto iconoclasta, una suerte de Powerpoint desquiciado que reimagina la historia del siglo XX hasta esta parte y que anuncia un futuro catastrófico. La extinción de la especie es anunciada con carteles en Comic Sans y al son de una banda musical atonal. Con humor, su mirada única sobre la tecnología oscila entre la visión apocalíptica autoinfligida y la venganza humana que somete al invento a los fines emancipatorios del arte. Un ensayo visual que mezcla simulación y memoria, collage de imágenes sintéticas y vestigios del cine primitivo. Kluge uses AI's disturbing interpretation of humanity's visual heritage to create an iconoclastic artifact, some sort of deranged Powerpoint presentation that reimagines history from the 20th century to the present and announces a catastrophic future. The extinction of the species is announced with title cards in Comic Sans and to the sound of an atonal musical score. With humor, his unique look at technology oscillates between the self-inflicted apocalyptic vision and the human revenge that submits invention to the emancipatory purposes of art. A visual essay that mixes simulation and memory, a collage of synthetic images and vestiges of primitive cinema. Kluge, still provocative at 93, turns AI into a tool of aesthetic archeology. SGC
