Sinopsis

Mientras trabaja todos los días en una tintorería, Rosa es atravesada por el recuerdo de su infancia con su madre. Un día ve en la televisión que una señora del barrio asegura haber visto a la Virgen María, y su cotidianidad empieza a verse plagada de elementos religiosos.

While working every day at a dry cleaner's, Rosa is crossed by the memory of her childhood with her mother. One day she sees on television that a lady from the neighborhood claims to have seen the Virgin Mary, and her daily life begins to be plagued by religious elements.

Estudiante de Diseño de Imagen y Sonido en la UBA. Fue seleccionada para el Programa de Cine de la Universidad Torcuato Di Tella 2025. Comenzó su carrera en cine como montajista y guionista, y en los últimos años se dedicó a dirigir y editar videoclips.

Un comercio que parece de otros tiempos, un bar que parece de otros tiempos y, sobre todo, un plano de una chica –que no es la protagonista– que lleva una vela encendida con la actitud con la que mucha gente lleva su teléfono por la calle. Un momento pensado y ejecutado con esa seguridad que evidencia la presencia de una cineasta, una que recorta y construye una Buenos Aires (más) corrida del tiempo, con su gente (más) ensimismada en alguna clase de soñada salvación. Este es un cortometraje de alguien que puede armar un mundo a partir de magnificar y enrarecer elementos cotidianos sin forzarlos ni romperlos: las imágenes y los sonidos de Después del silencio tienen mirada, tienen fuerza, tienen aplomo, tienen tiempo de cine. A store that seems to belong to other times, a bar that seems to belong to other times and, above all, a shot of a girl -who is not the protagonist- carrying a lit candle with the attitude with which many people carry their phones on the street. A moment thought out and executed with that certainty that evidences the presence of a filmmaker, one who cuts and builds a Buenos Aires (more) out of time, with its people (more) engrossed in some kind of dreamy salvation. This is a short film by someone who can build a world by magnifying and rarefying everyday elements without forcing them or breaking them: the images and sounds of Echoes of Silence have a gaze, they have strength, they have aplomb, they have a cinematic tempo.
