Sinopsis

Una niña sobrevive entre los restos dejados por un ejército invasor, buscando refugio y alimento. Pero al matar accidentalmente a un pájaro, el frágil equilibrio emocional que la sostenía empieza a quebrarse.

A girl survives among the wreckage left behind by an invading army, searching for shelter and food. But when she accidentally kills a bird, the fragile emotional balance that sustained her begins to crumble.

Francisco Novick, Natalio Pagés

Novick es director y productor de cine. Realizador por la ENERC y licenciado en Economía (UBA). Entre sus films se encuentra Una noche en Paladium (Bafici ‘25). Pagés es sociólogo (UBA) y realizador cinematográfico por la ENERC. Su ópera prima Tiempo perdido se estrenó en el Festival de Mar del Plata en 2019.

Novick is a film director and producer. He studied filmmaking at ENERC and has a degree in Economics (UBA). His films include A Night at Paladium (Bafici '25). Pagés is a sociologist (UBA) and film director from ENERC. His debut film Lost TIime premiered at the Mar del Plata Film Festival in 2019.

Reseña / Review

Puede ser un western en su comienzo, ese principio como suspendido. Un western protagonizado por una niña, aunque pronto descubriremos que es algo que ya vimos… pero en verdad no. Puede haber poesía en un mundo apocalíptico, de esos vistos muchas veces, pero solo en apariencia. Este corto se guarda algo, mucho más que lo que indican esas coordenadas engañosas. Puede haber refugios en nuestras mentes que vuelvan un poco mejor el futuro tan sombrío que nos espera. El clásico escenario de sobrevivencia y sálvese usted mismo pero con giros de mínima esperanza humana, de que en el fondo siempre quedará alguien sensible para la reconstrucción. Hay cortos que son cortos y ya. Hay cortos que dan ganas de que sean largos, o de que no terminen nunca. He aquí uno de ellos. Luis Hitoshi Díaz

It might seem like a Western at first, with that somewhat suspended opening. A western starring a young girl, though we’ll soon discover it’s something we’ve seen before… but not really. There may be poetry in an apocalyptic world—the kind we’ve seen many times—but only in appearance. This short film holds something, much more than those misleading coordinates suggest. There may be refuges in our minds that make the bleak future awaiting us a little better. The classic “save yourself" survival scenario, but with twists of minimal human hope—that deep down, there will always be someone sensitive enough to rebuild. There are shorts that are just shorts. There are shorts that make you wish they were feature-length, or that they never ended. Here's one of them. LHD
