La ópera prima de Kristen Stewart adapta las memorias de Lidia Yuknavitch como un flujo de conciencia más que como una biopic tradicional; a través de una puesta impresionista y fragmentaria, la película sigue a una joven marcada por el abuso familiar que busca escapar y reconstruirse arrojándose de lleno a la natación, los excesos y la escritura autobiográfica. Kristen Stewart's directorial debut adapts Lidia Yuknavitch's memoirs as a stream of consciousness rather than a traditional biopic; through an impressionistic and fragmented mise-en-scène, the film follows a young woman scarred by family abuse who seeks to escape and rebuild herself by throwing herself into swimming, excess, and autobiographical writing. With a fierce performance by Imogen Poots, the film prioritizes sensory experience over linear narration: memories, bodies and emotions appear as flashes reflected in the aquatic logic of memory. Stewart builds an intimate and visceral portrait of identity, trauma and the possibility of reinvention, immersing us in a torrent of evocative shots. IB
