Bienvenidos a un lugar de babosas sin casa, paredes baleadas, cigarrillos interminables y tomates que explotan. Ese lugar solo puede ser Paradaïz.
Welcome to a place filled with houseless slugs, bullet-ridden walls, never-ending cigarettes and exploding tomatoes. This must be Paradaïz.

Artista multidisciplinaria nacida en Sarajevo y radicada en Winnipeg, Canadá. Huyó de su ciudad natal siendo una niña en1992 y desde entonces se interesó por el concepto de hogar y apego, impregnando su arte con una mezcla distintiva de nostalgia y humor negro.
A multidisciplinary artist born in Sarajevo and based in Winnipeg, Canada. She fled her birthplace as a child in the summer of 1992 and has been interested in the concept of home and attachment ever since, infusing her art with a signature mix of nostalgia and dark humour.

Paraíso puede ser un prado sin fin, el sonido de los tacos sobre baldosas, un buen cigarrillo y hasta un tomate en serbio. Paraíso puede ser volver a casa después de mucho tiempo, pero los paraísos también pueden romperse. Matea Radic rememora viajes y regresos, la extraña sensación de caminar de nuevo por calles que cambiaron demasiado o quizás no lo suficiente, subir escalones eternos y atravesar una casa llena de agujeros. Su yo actual y la niña que caminó esos lugares años atrás por momentos son una misma, como si se tomaran la mano para revivir esos lugares juntas aunque dé miedo. Tal vez las vendas que antes cubrían sus rodillas para que curaran más rápido también puedan curar otras heridas, como las del tomate que se pudre en la heladera. Azul Obarrio
Paradise can be an endless meadow, the sound of heels on tile, a good cigarette, or even a tomato in Serbian. Paradise can be coming home after a long time, but paradises can also be shattered. Matea Radic recalls journeys and returns, the strange sensation of walking again through streets that have changed too much or perhaps not enough, climbing endless stairs and passing through a house full of holes. Her present self and the girl who walked those places years ago are, at times, one and the same, as if they were holding hands to relive those places together, even if it’s scary. Perhaps the bandages that once covered her knees so they would heal faster can also heal other wounds, such as those of the tomato rotting in the fridge. AO
