Sinopsis

Una cámara rota registra a la abuela de la directora mientras el tiempo la desintegra. Surgen versiones de sí misma y, con la distancia, olvida su lengua materna, como las lenguas que se transforman. El recuerdo devuelve identidades fragmentadas.

A broken camera captures the director’s grandmother while time causes disintegration. Different variations and versions of herself emerge and, with separation, she forgets her native tongue, mirroring the transformation of languages. The act of remembering brings back fragmented identities.

Trabaja con técnicas de cine documental, narrativo, analógico, de archivo y performance para investigar las relaciones entre la memoria, la ideología y el medioambiente. Su obra se proyectó en festivales de todo el mundo, como Nueva York, Rotterdam y la Viennale, entre otros.

Breve maravilla fotoquímica, como una cápsula del tiempo que cobra vida, las imágenes parecen reconstruir el paso del tiempo en puro presente, trayéndonos al pasado de visita para confrontar sus huellas en los espacios, en las personas, en los objetos, en los paisajes. Obra de un montaje minucioso, de absoluta precisión, que consigue otorgarles un pulso y una respiración a las imágenes, y un despliegue de ideas que son sentidos y emoción en formato hiperconcentrado, esta pequeña pieza artesanal evoca un mundo, lo despide y lo abraza, mira con amor y con nobleza, y pone en danza las voces y las cosas para volverlas parte de ese ballet mecánico que es también el del fotograma y sus veladuras entre cuadro y cuadro. A brief photochemical marvel, like a time capsule coming to life, the images seem to reconstruct the passage of time in the pure present, bringing us back to the past to confront its traces in spaces, in people, in objects, in landscapes. The result of meticulous editing and absolute precision, which manages to give the images a pulse and a breath, and a display of ideas that are senses and emotion in a hyper-concentrated format, this small, handcrafted piece evokes a world, bids it farewell, and embraces it, looks upon it with love and nobility, and sets voices and things in motion to make them part of that mechanical ballet that is also that of the frame and the glazes between one and the next.
