Sinopsis

Entre calor extremo, apagones y éxodo, un grupo de amigos invade mansiones vacías para probar sus piletas, hasta descubrir que ese paraíso también puede volverse infernal.

Amid extreme heat, blackouts, and exodus, a group of friends invade empty mansions to try out their pools, until they discover that paradise can also turn into hell.

(2001, Argentina). Artista formada como directora en la Universidad del Cine, escribió y dirigió cuatro cortos. Los nadadores es su ópera prima, la cual coprotagoniza junto a los miembros de su colectivo de cine, Los Nadadores Cine.

Es el día 368 del verano. Hace días que la noche ya no llega. Los nadadores transforma la traviesa y desesperada apropiación de piletas durante el apocalipsis en un gesto tan lúdico como salvaje y, definitivamente, en el centro de una deriva donde el fin del mundo está a un chapuzón de distancia. La película se mueve en ese clima suspendido, entre apatía generacional, sensualidad cansada y un leve enrarecimiento fantástico que remite a cierta tradición literaria rioplatense, donde lo extraordinario surge apenitas torciendo la realidad. Sol Iglesias SK filma cuerpos agotados que encuentran en el agua un paraíso artificial, un tesoro, un útero y un escondite; y así crea una imagen líquida de una juventud que no sabe si escapar, resistir o simplemente seguir flotando. It is the 368th day of summer. Night has not fallen for days. The Swimmers transforms the mischievous and desperate appropriation of swimming pools during the apocalypse into a gesture as playful as it is wild, and definitely at the center of a drift where the end of the world is just a dip away. The film moves in this suspended atmosphere, between generational apathy, weary sensuality, and a slight fantastical strangeness that recalls a certain literary tradition from the River Plate region, where the extraordinary emerges by barely twisting reality. Sol Iglesias SK films exhausted bodies that find in water an artificial paradise, a treasure, a womb and a hiding place, thus creating a fluid image of a youth that does not know whether to escape, resist, or simply continue floating.
