Sinopsis

Bicho tiene un ojo blanco y vive con su abuela en la casa más chica del barrio. En un invierno inusualmente cálido, pasa los días trabajando en jardines y filmando con su cámara a su pandilla de amigos, buscando capturar imágenes que nadie vio jamás.

Bicho has a white eye and lives with his grandmother in the smallest house in the neighborhood. In an unusually warm winter, he spends his days working in gardens and filming his gang of friends with his camera, seeking to capture images that no one has ever seen before.

Nicolás Sequeira, Diego Acosta

Sequeira (1990, Uruguay) se graduó de la Facultad de Comunicación Audiovisual, FIC (UDELAR), dirigió cortos y en 2021 publicó su primer libro. Acosta (1992, Uruguay) es graduado de la Escuela de Cine Bande à Part de Barcelona. Se especializa en análisis cinematográfico y dirigió varios cortometrajes.

Sequeira (1990, Uruguay) graduated from the Faculty of Audiovisual Communication, FIC (UDELAR), directed short films, and published his first book in 2021. Acosta (1992, Uruguay) is a graduate of the Bande à Part Film School in Barcelona. He specializes in film analysis and has directed several short films.

Bicho es una película y es un personaje, que es una persona que hace películas, o que encuentra en la cámara una especie de prótesis para lidiar con el mundo. Y en el acto de grabar y en los momentos en que es filmado mientras graba se va colando su universo, a medias, fragmentado, con la lógica de la memoria y de las cintas que Bicho va grabando con su cámara de video, retazos del mundo, paisajes urbanos y desolados, el río y sus luces, amigos y amores, los jóvenes y sus ritos, los raros, los solos, los excéntricos, los distintos. El video es la textura dominante que tapiza al paisaje, que filtra la luz, que le da esa aspereza que tiene también su vida, impasible y luminosa, real hasta el encandilamiento. Magdalena Arau

Bicho is a film and a character, a person who makes films, or who finds in the camera a kind of prosthesis for dealing with the world. And in the act of recording and in the moments when he is filmed while recording, his universe seeps in, half-formed, fragmented, with the logic of memory and the tapes that Bicho records with his video camera, snippets of the world, urban and desolate landscapes, the river and its lights, friends and loves, young people and their rituals, the weird, the lonely, the eccentric, the different.
