Al comienzo, vemos a un grupo de mujeres hablar de un ataque con misiles a Kiev. Son trabajadoras del Museo de Historia Natural de la ciudad. Todas las películas ucranianas nos hablan de la guerra, claro. Pero este corto hace un pequeño desplazamiento y se interna en una visita guiada para niños en edad escolar. El guía fascina a los chicos con su verborragia y sus muestras fósiles, en un viaje que se remonta millones de años en el pasado. Y aunque la película trata sobre este pequeño respiro, sobre la vida que continúa en medio del horror bélico, los planos de especies extintas nos traen de vuelta al comienzo. Con maestría, Paleontology Lesson no renuncia a la libre interpretación, pero tampoco olvida los misiles que dominan el fuera de campo. Santiago G. Cragnolino

At the beginning, we see a group of women talking about a missile attack on Kiev. They are employees of the city's Natural History Museum. All Ukrainian films talk about the war, of course. But this short film takes a slight detour and delves into a guided tour for schoolchildren. The guide fascinates the children with his verbosity and fossil specimens, on a journey that goes back millions of years into the past. And although the film is about this brief respite, about life continuing amid the horror of war, the shots of extinct species bring us back to the beginning. Masterfully, Paleontology Lesson does not renounce free interpretation, but neither does it forget the missiles that dominate the out of field. SGC
