Sinopsis

Una mujer despierta a las 3:33 de la madrugada. Lo que parece insomnio revela una grieta en el tiempo: recuerdos fragmentados, terapias interrumpidas y visiones de un pasado borrado. Mientras el presente se diluye, resurgen imágenes de su juventud como voluntaria de un experimento secreto.

A woman wakes up at 3:33 in the morning. What appears to be insomnia reveals a crack in time: fragmented memories, interrupted therapies, and visions of an erased past. As the present fades away, images of her youth as a volunteer in a secret experiment resurface.

(1983, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Director de cine y artista visual. Escribió y dirigió los largometrajes documentales Un rey para la Patagonia (2011, Mención Especial del Jurado en el Festival de Cine de Mar del Plata) e Inconsciente (2017), y el largo de ficción Como mueren las reinas (Bafici ‘17).

La IA ha pasado de ser un inquietante píxel muerto en la pantalla mental de los tecno-escépticos a transformarse en la Skynet que va a arrasar con la industria audiovisual tal como la conocemos. Un cine de autores de prompts nos desafía. A Turturro no le asusta el acertijo: sabe que el valor de una pregunta está más allá de su respuesta y aprovecha con discreta precisión (seguro y elegante, sin alardes de virtuosismo) las posibilidades de la IA para reflexionar sin sentencias sobre nuevas/viejas formas de percepción, de modo que cyberthriller vintage, documental sobre el LSD y exploración visual de la conciencia se aúnan y comentan recíprocamente en la pulida superficie de sus imágenes. Con forma de misterio silencioso, el futuro golpea nuestra puerta. Turturro le da la bienvenida. Patricio Pina

AI has gone from being a disturbing dead pixel on the mental screen of techno-skeptics to becoming the Skynet that will wipe out the audiovisual industry as we know it. A cinema of prompt auteurs challenges us. Turturro is not afraid of the riddle: he knows that the value of a question lies beyond its answer and he takes advantage of the possibilities of AI with discreet precision (confident and elegant, without flaunting his virtuosity) to reflect without judgment on new/old forms of perception, so that vintage cyberthriller, documentary on LSD, and visual exploration of consciousness come together and comment on each other on the polished surface of his images.
