En ese inesperado espacio liminal entre la ciencia ficción y el romance, Viens y Lupien despliegan una cámara-ojo temblorosa, un ensayo visual de la mirada alienígena en busca de su próxima abducción. La partitura sonora anticipa una profundidad dramática ineludible, mientras la película canadiense plantea que la soledad nos vuelve vulnerables a la desaparición/abducción. Sin embargo, también advierte la existencia de un límite protector: un umbral que toma su forma en un corazón –literalmente– en llamas. Así, tras conocer a Rita, Leo encarna esa resistencia. In that unexpected liminal space between science fiction and romance, Viens and Lupien deploy a shaky eye-cam, a visual rehearsal of the alien gaze in search of its next abduction. The score anticipates an inescapable dramatic depth, as the Canadian film posits that loneliness makes us vulnerable to disappearance/abduction. However, it also warns of the existence of a protective boundary: a threshold that takes the form of a heart -literally- on fire. Thus, after meeting Rita, Leo embodies that resistance. The mechanisms of science fiction operate here as the gateway to the universe of two wounded hearts capable of eluding disappearance. MZ
