Esta película explora la idea de cinematograma para (re)construir una cinematografía posible: una colección de films de propaganda del gobierno republicano asturiano en 1937 que nunca existieron o se perdieron.

This film explores the idea of the cinematogram to (re)construct a possible cinematography: a collection of propaganda films from the Asturian republican government from 1937 that never existed or were lost.

Es cineasta y escritor. Dirigió numerosos largometrajes, entre ellos, Aún me quedan balas para dibujar y Escoréu. 24 d’avientu de 1937, ambos proyectados en el Bafici ‘17.

Ramón Lluís Bande ha ajustado tanto su sistema que lo que le salió es el milagro de una película literalmente transparente. Si se está a favor de las organizaciones obreras –que incluyen el inventario inconmovible de su normativa, su profilaxis moral, su sacrificio como tributo necesario, la delegación del placer en pos de un bien mayor– está todo a la vista. Si se sospecha de las mieles de la dicha colectiva y de un programa cuyos resultados, de triunfar, tampoco lo convencen del todo, tiene a mano, en la pantalla, ante sus ojos, todo lo que necesita para no dejarse convencer. Retaguardia no miente. El archivo es buenísimo; los textos también; la voz que los dice también. Retaguardia deja ver a un director formidable cuya fe en el cine es política. Manuel Ramírez

Ramón Lluís Bande has adjusted his system so much that what came out of it is the miracle of a literally transparent film. If one is in favor of the workers' organizations -which include the unshakable inventory of their regulations, their moral prophylaxis, their sacrifice as a necessary tribute, the delegation of pleasure in pursuit of a greater good- everything is in sight. If you are suspicious of the delights of collective happiness and of a program whose results, if successful, do not entirely convince you either, you have at hand, on the screen, before your eyes, everything you need not to let yourself be convinced. Retaguardia does not lie. The archive is very good; so are the texts; and so is the voice that speaks them. Retaguardia reveals a formidable director whose faith in cinema is political. MR
