Veyre visitó y filmó “vistas” en Japón, China, México, Cuba y otros países latinoamericanos, pero fue en Marruecos donde terminó asentándose para crear una nueva vida. El español Javier Rebollo imagina el encuentro del fotógrafo con el sultán Moulay Abd el-Aziz, pero les escapa a los resortes de la biopic como si se tratara del mismísimo diablo. El aparato cinematográfico, realidad palpable y ente mágico, adquiere así un impronta metafísica, y los dolores y placeres de la vida solo pueden comprenderse si logran atravesar su lente. Veyre visited and filmed “vistas” in Japan, China, Mexico, Cuba and other Latin American countries, but it was in Morocco that he ended up settling down to create a new life. Spanish director Javier Rebollo imagines the photographer's meeting with Sultan Moulay Abd el-Aziz, but he escapes the tricks of the biopic as if they were the devil himself. The cinematic apparatus, palpable reality and magical entity, thus acquires a metaphysical imprint, and the pains and pleasures of life can only be understood if they manage to pass through its lens.
